Let’s be honest: everything is more fun when it’s a game. Security training is no different.
Today, Adaptive is introducing Leaderboards; a new way to reward positive security behavior and motivate participation through friendly competition. Employees earn points for actions like completing training or reporting phishing emails, and see how they rank across the organization.
Key features & capabilities
Leaderboards are designed to drive engagement for learners while giving admins full control. Here’s how it works:
- Reward Positive Security Behavior: earn points for meaningful actions, like completing training modules or reporting phishing simulations.
- Anonymized Competition Mode: Motivate without public rankings by only allowing learners to see their own rank.
- Custom Rewards Messaging: Add a custom banner to the leaderboard to announce contests, incentives, or rewards.
- Flexible Views and Filters: Leaderboards can be viewed by individual performance, grouped by department or location, and set to certain timeframes.
How teams are using Leaderboards
Leaderboards can flex to fit your culture and goals. Here are three ways teams are already using them:
- Monthly Security Challenges: Reset the Leaderboard each month and recognize top performers with a shout-out or prize.
- Team-Based Rivalries: Group rankings by department, location, or manager to spark friendly competition.
- Private Progress Tracking: Anonymized mode encourages personal improvement without public pressure, and still gives admins a clear view of engagement trends.
Leaderboards are live on Adaptive
Admins will see a new “Leaderboard” section in the dashboard. By default, it’s visible only to admins. When you are ready, head to Settings, turn it on for learners and choose between named or anonymized mode. Once enabled, learners will see the “Leaderboard” tab and can start climbing the ranks.
